Video
- The Flash Streaming product must offer:
- True streaming solution, not a progressive download
- Minimum 3-second stream buffer
- Bandwidth detection to support both dialup (56K) and broadband users (100K+), with each being automatically served an appropriate stream. (Ie: 56k, 100k, 300k, etc)
- User Control: Media User Interface controls must be visible during playback allowing users to stop, play, and mute at any time
- Video stream can only begin after the entire page has completely loaded.
- No video files streamed into browsers cache. If FLV or SWF video files are cached the client must be made aware of this security problem
- No frequency cap on video portion of banners containing streaming video
- 30 second maximum on video stream length
Audio
- Must be user initiated on click
- 30 second maximum on audio served in conjunction with a video stream
- Audio served independent of a video stream may run for 15 to 30 seconds
- Play, Stop/Pause, and Mute buttons are preferred; Stop/Mute and Start buttons are required

All creatives must function uniformly on both Mac and PC platforms as well as multiple versions of Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Mozilla.
Submission Deadlines:
GIF/JPG: 2 business days prior to launch date
Flash: 5 business days prior to launch date
Note: If the submitted creative does not conform to the specifications, it will not be placed online and may result in a delayed launch date.
Notes:
CNET Networks requires a GIF or JPG to be served as the "default" for non-Flash users.
CNET Networks accepts Flash MX 2004 (7) and Flash Professional (8) file formats.
For Flash only: The use of audio streams must be initiated by click only with a clearly labeled "Audio on/off" button and must start in the off position. There is a 30 second maximum on audio served in conjunction with a video stream. Audio served independent of a video stream may be 15 or 30 seconds. Play, Stop/Pause, and Mute buttons are preferred; Stop/Mute and Start buttons are required.
